A VERY CRAZY WEEK

As most of you have heard, one of our dearest friends, the Kennedys, son Chris, was in a serious car accident a week ago. He is now in the Kamloops hospital. Things are very unsure right now, but throughout the week there are thousands of people all over the world praying for Chris. With all the believers praying and believing for a miracle, it is bound to happen.
Nothing really new in my life, but am so looking forward to the weekend. Syd and I are basically taking it easy and just hanging out. Love you all!!
PS. . . Keep Chris and the family in your prayers. Will keep you updated.

HERE I AM AGAIN

Hi everyone. I hope I find you all in great spirits. I have had a very busy month. Not only at work, but at home. Syd and I now have Meghann, Rachel's cousin, Cassie's birth mom, living with us. She has been at our place for a month now. We had an empty room as Samantha has moved to Victoria. So we thought why not, she needed a place to live, we had an empty room so it was a perfect fit. She is doing amazing and we laugh all the time. Syd is busy at work but not as busy as he would like to be. I am using up last years vacation so till the end of April I am taking every Monday off. I love long weekends. Back to reality in May. But starting in May, I have 7 more weeks of vacation. Yep. Hopefully I will be able to take some time off. I am off in July to go to a camp with my brother Les and his lovely wife, Kim. Then we are house sitting for Kevin and Jennifer as they are going to Mexico. It will be nice to be in a big home and eat all their food. hee hee. Anyway, I know this is short and sweet, but I need to get back to work. Love you all

I'm BACK!!

I know, it has been so long since I last blogged. My life has been crazy. I have a new position with the Yellow Pages and have been learning all these new things. I am too old for my brain to be so full. I am a sales assistant to a group of reps. I love it!! I have been reading all of your blogs and enjoying them very much. One of my dear bloggers is pregnant and knowing that makes my days so full of joy. This has been a very much wanted pregnancy and I am thrilled for both mommy and daddy. Another blogger friend is going through many struggles with her husband's health. Everytime I read hers, I pray for strength for both of them. I also pray that she gets a job and one that she is going to enjoy. Samantha was home for a day. It was a wonderful surprise. She called me on Sunday night and said, what are you doing. I said watching tv. That was at 8 pm. She said, Eddie and I are getting on the ferry and we are coming home for a night. They stayed for dinner last night and then Syd and I drove them to the ferry as walk ons. She has grown up so much. I love her so much. Anyway, gotta get back to work. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

HEY THERE,

Well, I have made it through the crazy holiday season. I am been crazy busy with work stuff, church stuff and the many Christmas, new years party we attended. I also started a new position at my work. I was doing my last position for almost 10 years and with yellow pages for over 30 years. So I thought it was time for a change. I started training on Monday, Jan 8th and love it. I am the sales assistant to a group of sales reps. I answer questions, do proposals for them, request contracts etc. It is really different and I am loving it.
Our Christmas was very busy but good. It all started on Christmas eve. After our morning service at our church we headed over to the Sleddings for food and fellowship. Yes, there was plenty of food. After we ate and fellowshipped, we went to our candle light service at our church at 6 pm. At 7 we went back to the Sleddings along with the Veronesi's (Marco & Debbie) the Nelson's (Todd & Lori) and us. It is a tradition that the four couples plus all the kids exchange gifts and just be with friends. It was so much fun and the one thing that I look forward to every year. We all got great gifts. The kids had a blast. Then on Christmas morning we got up, (Syd and I) got ready and headed over to Dennis & Linda Hoggards (in Abbotsford) for Christmas day. We stayed there for most of the day and enjoyed their Christmas with their family. We left there around 6 pm and headed over to mission to my half sister's place. I have two half sisters and a half brother from my mom's side. Kevin and I did not grow up with them as we were with my dad and they were with my mom. But I am starting to be with them more because family needs to come first. Dianna is married and has three wonderful children who love Syd and I very much. It is so cool how you don't grow up with someone but are like that person and have the same likes. Dianna is the youngest child from my mom and Dianna's dad. We stayed at Dianna's place until boxing day morning, had breakfast with them and then headed back into Vancouver. We got home around noon, had a shower and then headed over to my families Christmas. There were around 35 of us there for gifts and food. That is always a fun time. So, that was three days of craziness. Now we are in a new year and I pray that you all have a very prosperous year with all your dreams coming true.

I AM NAUGHTY, BUT NICE

Yes, it has been quite a while since I blogged, but you all should realize what time of year it is. I have been so busy with different functions at the church. I have cooked for three different functions, all turkey dinners. One for 40 people, one for 150 people and the last for 50. Now, I am done, hopefully. I only have one more gift to buy. Yes, I am done. I feel so good. Everything is wrapped too. I am good. Sam is working so I won't see her over the holidays. I am sad. I have been sort of weepy all day because of it. Then she calls me. I started to cry, but she did not know that. If I don't blog for a bit, I want to wish everyone of you a wonderful holiday season. As we all know, He is the reason for this season. We serve an amazing God. Blessings to all of you and your families.

Love mama Lorna

ANOTHER WEEKEND

And what a busy one it was. On Friday night we had a Christmas party for some of the people in my company. We all went on a carol ship cruise for 4 hours. What an amazing meal we had. Lots of door prizes and fun. Our social club at work organized it, which I am on, and I am pretty sure everyone had a good time. Saturday morning got up and went to the church. I made a turkey dinner for all the home group leaders at our church. I cooked for 35 people. They all seemed to enjoy the meal. Then Syd and I did a bit of Christmas shopping. That was fun. In the evening we went to a surprise birthday party for one of the young ladies from the church. Dina turned 25. They blind folded her until she got into the house we had the party at. She was totally surprised. That was alot of fun. Then Sunday night was the Christmas production for our kids department at the church. They all did an amazing job. What fun. Now I am at work for another week of chaos. I am busy just about every night this week. Tonight more Christmas shopping, tomorrow, volunteer at the hospital, Wed, Thurs, setting up for the Christmas dinner for the neighborhood around the church on Friday and then all day Friday cooking for 125 or so people. Saturday, a Christmas party at friends and Sunday, Christmas decorating fun at the Hoggard's. Yes I do not lead a boring life. I hope you all have a great day!!

TUESDAY BLUES

Hey there. I promised some pictures of Rachel and Debbie's boys. The one on the left is Ethan, Rachel's and the one on the right is Owen, Debbie's. I just love these two. They make me smile everytime I look at them. They were at my place on Sunday afternoon. They both are almost three a week apart in age. I am truly blessed to be Auntie Lorna to so many great kids. The picture of the little girl is Isabella. She is Debbie's also. She has the greatest smile. I found out tonight at choir practice she loves coffee like her mom.

I am so glad it is raining right now. The snow is going away. I know two people that have slipped and really hurt themselves on the ice. Both of them went face first on the pavement. Crazy man. I am not doing too much decorating this year. It is only Syd and I at home. I have put up our stockings and did a bit of decorating on the fireplace hearth. I need to also finish my shopping. Hopefully within the next two weeks that will all be done.

Have a wonderful evening.
