A WINTER WONDERLAND

Well, today was a very busy day. I was at my church for most of the day helping decorate for Christmas. There were around 6 of us there. I looks so pretty. Christmas is a fun time of year and I cannot believe it is only a month away. It started to snow here just as we were finished decorating and the kids were finished their play practice. And it has not stopped at all. As you can see, I took some pictures of the evening. I hope you enjoy them. This was the first time our cat Zoe, was ever in snow. She was not too sure of it. Well, gotta get stuff done before church in the morning. I hope you all are safe on the road tomorrow and have fun in the snow.

What A Week

This picture was taken at Syd's surprise birthday party. It is Samantha on the right. Beside her is Orny, then Melodie and Yvonne. They all call me mom. It is pretty cool.

You know when you have those weeks where you just want them to end, well, that is this week for me. I woke up Saturday morning with a sore throat. I had to go to the dentist, so that was not too much fun, sore throat with my mouth open in the dentist chair. Then it was church on sunday, with the grey cup in the afternoon. I get really nervous with games like that so I stayed in my room and Syd watched the game on the tv in the living room. I had a nap as I was starting to feel worse because of the sore throat now turning into a bad cold. On monday not any better, but still had to go to work as I am very busy right now. Emailed the volunteer co-ordinator letting her know that I would not be able to volunteer because you cannot do that if you are sick. She said that there were alot of people with the same thing, including herself, so not to worry. Tuesday, I sneezed and blew my nose all day. I felt even worse. I wanted to just crawl into bed and die, but I got drugs instead. Sinutab, for the congestion, other cold stuff, for everything else. Today I am much better. Still blowing my nose but the congestion, sore throat etc is almost gone. Had another dentist appt today. I am now done till January. Wow, are dentists ever expensive. Because it is a specialist, I have to pay them first then they send the claim into my dental company and they reimburse me the amount owing. So for Sat and today, I gave them $420.00. I will get $294.00 back. Not that bad. Boy I wish I had good teeth, oh well my own fault. I was sitting watching tv after supper and got a sad feeling thinking about Samantha, who I have not seen for two weeks as she lives in Victoria now. It hit me how much I miss her. Yikes. I called her and really tried not to start to cry, but it was hard. She knew I was crying too cause she kept saying, Mommy, don't cry, I will be home soon. But that is hard for me too, cause when she comes home, it is not to stay. Oh well, it is her time to mature and find her own way in life. She is 18 and I cannot believe that. Anyhow, have a wonderful evening all.

WE NEED TO BUILD AN ARK

Yes, it is going to be raining all weekend. I need to buy wood to build my ark. Just trying to find the dimensions in the bible. What crazy weather we are having.

I am just sitting here watching the rain and wishing I was at home cuddling with Syd. Oh well, I can do that tomorrow after my dentist appointment. Major work being done and I am really scared. aaaawwww. Oh well, it has to be done.

This weekend is not too busy which I am glad about. Hopefully will get my house clean and laundry done on Saturday. Then on Sunday is just church and a baby shower after the morning service. I love baby showers when the Filipino people organize it because they always have wonderful food. yummy. . .

I wish you all a great weekend and please try and not float away!!

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY

Unbelievable how hard it has been raining. The rain woke me up this morning pounding on the window. This is a picture of Syd and I on our way to work this morning. Yes, I have turned into a cartoon. Crazy day. And I have to take the bus home. I NEED MY FLIPPERS!!! I woke up at 5:15 this morning and could not get back to sleep. We usually get up at 6:15 but my inside clock did not want to cooperate. There are times in your life when you don't understand what is happening and why it is happening. With me it has to do with my insecurities and not being used in our music dept at the church as much as I was before. I used to sing every Sunday and I loved it. Now I am on maybe once or twice a month. Am I not good enough for our new pastor, am I not the type of singer he likes, am I not am I not. This is my dilema. I guess I just have to let him do things the way he wants and just go along with the flow. People have said to me JUST TALK TO HIM. I really don't find him that approachable. But others love him and think he is doing good things. Maybe it is just me. AAAWWW, I hate this. I wish it would go out of my brain. Anyhow, I am at work and trying to organize my day. I am just finishing up my coffee and going to go and get a muffin or something. I hope you all have a blessed day.

A DAY TO REMEMBER

Hey there all my blogger friends. Sorry for not posting, but I guess my life is busier than I ever thought. Also my daughter Samantha has moved to Victoria. Yes, she left last Tuesday. I guess that is another reason for not being up on the blogging. Her boyfriend went there to get a job. His brother and sister live over there. So Samantha went with him. Yes, I know what you are all thinking but sometimes you just have to let them do things on their own to let them grow up a bit. So much to tell you all. My volunteering at the children's hospital is going good. There are times when it is very boring as there are no kids to hang out with, but last tuesday was a good night. You just do not realize how blessed you are to have a healthy child and have friends that have healthy kids. I am overwhelmed with God's grace. On the same night, very special friends of ours from the church, Susheel and Jennie Lyn, had a beautiful baby girl. 6 lbs 12 oz. She was born with a full head of black hair. Her name is Shekinah Rachel. Syd and I went to the hospital Wednesday night to visit her and mommy and daddy. I love watching Syd hold a baby. He is so gentle. Friday, I got a call from Rachel and she asked what I was doing that night. (It was raining like crazy) She had to go to Langley to do a Jolica party http://www.jolica.com/home.asp at Tammy's place, La La's sister. She did not want to drive in the crappy weather by herself. So I went with her. Good thing I did. With two of us in the vehicle, she used the HOV lane on the freeway. If I was not with her, she probably would not have gotten to Langley till after 8. The traffic was crazy. Not just because of the rain but because there was an accident after the Port Mann bridge, which slowed everything down. That was a fun night. On Saturday we did some house work and then went to the mall to window shop and then we went to the movie, Stranger Than Fiction. It was not as funny as we thought it would be but it was ok. I would have prefered to rent it. Oh well, live and learn. Sunday morning was church and then Sunday night was a retirement dinner for my Aunt Velma Freeman. After 50 years of missionary work and working in the church, she retired. We had everyone bring food and we had a celebration. There were around 300 - 400 people there. People I have not seen for years. What a good night. I was in charge of the kitchen with the help of our youth and college & career group. What an amazing team. As I had said in my last post we went to a wedding. I have attached some pictures from that. Also one of Syd and I. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

I AM BAD

I know I have not updated my post for a while, but it has been a crazy week. Syd and I, along with many of our friends went to a wedding on Saturday. It was amazing how God put Carolyn and Andrew together. They were both single all their lives and a year ago, Andrew, 39 and Carolyn, 37, they met at our church, started dating and well, the ending was a fairytale wedding. What an amazing story of their love for each other.
Our weekend was also busy with hanging out with our good friends, Linda & Dennis Hoggard. After the wedding Syd and I went to hotel Hoggard and spent the night at their place. It was so nice just relaxing and doing stuff in their new home. We left Abbotsford and headed into Vancouver as it was a birthday party for my mom who turned 70. I took pictures, but have not downloaded them yet. Will do that hopefully before the week is over and post them along with pictures of the wedding.
I hope you all have a wonderful day

HAPPY DAY AFTER HALLOWEEN

Hey, missed me? I know, I am missable (is that a word?)

Anyway, too much happening to let you know everything that is going on. Another Halloween come and gone. People at my work usually dress up. It was crazy around here yesterday.

I have attached a picture of one of the groups.

Syd and I decided to give out candy. We live in a basement suite and thought because our entrance is at the back of the house we would not get too many kids but we had over 30. I was alot of fun. I think Syd had more fun than me.

I finished Rachel's kitchen but I have a few touchups. I am going there tomorrow night to do that. I will take pictures and post them for you all to see. She is very happy with the outcome. I am happy about that.

Have a great day. . .
